Here at Fifth Avenue Jewellers, we offer a variety of services including jewellery repairs, appraisals, custom design and extensive customer service to help you find what you're looking for and assist you with your jewellery repair. JEWELLERY REPAIR

We perform precision repairs on all types of silver, gold, palladium and platinum jewellery. All jewellery repair work is done in-store. If you have pieces that require repair, please visit us at our store for a complimentary inspection and quote.
 
With the purchase of any ring over $1500.00, the first sizing is included up to two sizes, up or down. (surcharge will be applied for additional sizes) 
 
With the purchase of your Fifth Avenue Jewellery, we offer complimentary professional cleaning and checking. We recommend that you have your jewellery checked twice a year.
 
Repairs will be completed in the order they are received. However, items purchased in-store will receive priority service.

APPRAISALS 

Any purchase over $1000 includes an appraisal that will be provided at the time of purchase. Insurance appraisals on personal jewellery start at $109.95 per item, plus taxes. Previous appraisals accompanying jewellery brings the price down to $99.95 per item, plus taxes. If the previous appraisal was completed by us, the cost drops down further, to $79.95 plus taxes.
 
How does the appraisal procedure work? Each item is polished and cleaned with ultrasonic, then inspected for any required repairs. The piece is examined for karat and any trademark stamps, then weighed, measured, and graded for quality. The potential value for the item is researched with suppliers based on today’s market value. Finally, the appraisal is prepared describing each piece individually.
 
If you have any previous appraisals, certificates or receipts, including them can assist the diamond grader in providing the most accurate description and estimate of value.
 

WATCH REPAIRS

Typically, a watch battery will last approximately one year. However, as watches age they may drain the battery more quickly, and some watches drain the battery more quickly than others.
 
We recommend changing your battery about once per year as batteries sometimes can leak and damage the movement. Only those qualified to do so should change your battery. 
 
If your watch has been damaged by water, bring it in and we will dry it out in order to prevent rust from forming.
 
Your watch is not waterproof unless it is a specialty divers watch that is periodically serviced and pressure tested. A properly sealed watch simply means the watch is water resistant. Moisture can enter the watch through the openings, around the glass face, through the stem, or through the back of the case. Gaskets deteriorate and wear out; to maintain water resistance those seals need to be replaced. It is best to keep all watches away from moisture.
 
We also service premium watches including: Rolex, Omega, Cartier, Longines, Swiss Army, Rado, Breitling, Tag Heuer, and Tissot. Watches are sent to a professional Swiss watchmaker for repairs. We can also provide watch repairs on watches purchased in store like: Nixon, Michael Kors, and Citizen. Prior to shipping, a deposit is required in order for the watch to be seen and checked by the watchmaker for needed repairs. An estimate will be provided before beginning any repairs. When repairs are done, the deposit will be applied to the cost of repair. When sending your watch away please allow 4-6 weeks time depending on the availability of necessary parts.
 
At this time we do not service clocks.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Warranties
Every piece that enters our store is carefully inspected. Warranty situations are rare, but regrettably sometimes do occur.
 
At Fifth Avenue Jewellers our suppliers’ warranty all items we sell. Each supplier has their own policy for warranty – please see in store for further details.
 
In-store Return Policy
All in-store, regular-priced, purchases can be exchanged or returned for a full refund or credit note within 10 days of purchase. If purchased on sale or at a promotional price, the item can be exchanged or returned for a credit note within 10 days of purchase. All items must be returned in the original condition with the packaging and receipt.
 
Pandora returns and exchanges can be made within 30 days of purchase. All Pandora returns and exchanges must have proof of purchase, along with the item in original condition and packaging.
 
Please Note: return policies are not applicable to custom made items, special orders, or pieces that have been altered in any way.
 
Layaways
At Fifth Avenue Jewellers we offer a no interest, three-month layaway. A twenty percent deposit is required, and all items are kept in our vault. Payments can be made at your convenience.
 

INSURANCE CLAIMS

Insurance companies require “proof of loss” and the current, fair market value of your items.
 
Fair market value is based on the cost to replace your piece with a match or something of similar quality and value. In order to determine the value, insurance companies generally require a few competitive estimates.
 
We are very experienced in dealing with insurance claims. We would be happy to help you with the preparation of your insurance reimbursement estimate free of charge.
 
Insurance Claims
To make the process more timely and accurate it is helpful to provide a list of missing items in as much detail as possible.
For example:
 
  • Chains: gold chain, 10kt, 22 inches, box-link, 6 grams (metal, length, style, weight).
  • Rings: engagement ring, 14kt, 5 grams, 0.53ct diamond, SI1 – GH (style, karat, weight, gemstones, number, size and quality).
 
A sketch can also be helpful. Based on your information we will research the current values and determine our replacement cost. A written estimate will be prepared and provided for you.
